Sleep and dreams
Tuesday 11 December 2012, at 20,30
What is the importance of dreaming? The definition of the neurobiological mechanisms of dreaming as well as its psychoanalytical significance and clinical use, are all complementary aspects of the fascinating and still, partly, obscure world of dreams. How close are we to inventing the "dream machine", the hardware system, the brain functions that support oneiric experience? Is dreaming a territory suitable for scientific research? What is the role of dreams in psychoanalysis? We will try to find the answer to these and many more questions, with the help of Prof. Silvia Andreassi, psychoanalyst, and Prof. Luigi De Grannaro, sleep psycho-physiologist.
